Weekends in the park
Played all around the bay
Rarely bearing witness
To a mending of the cages
Yet on and on we play
Running through the fields
Making treasures out of nothing
When we see new holes appear
We rarely fill them up
Digging with our heels
Making new rules as the game unfolds
Developing new fears
It's been going for years, you know
In the middle of the day
Weekends in the park
Played all around the bay
Rarely bearing witness
To a mending of the cages
We play it in the dark
In the middle of the day
The weather's never perfect
Yet on and on we play
Cageball is an art, a craft,
and a wonderful game
