Teal
Blue Era
Calm wind after someone has died,
The distance, is inner turmoil,
One, it takes a lifetime to fight.

That's why there is blue in the sky.
The yellow and red still exists,
Hidden by tricks in the mind.

Like,
Somewhere inside,
I believe you are still mine,
All I see is the thing you're like.

It's like a room of three pipes,
I can always stay high,
But how, does one fight to stay?
They pick low and live life.

Despite the teal, I see the skies,
What is real?
Me, and all my desires,
Despite the sequins,
I see the light.

Flutter Away
Mental health
If all our troubles
Could grow wings
And flutter away
How much lighter
Our hearts would feel

I’d go bird watching for OCD
Or photograph Anxiety
Capture Depression in my lens
Wait quietly for Loneliness and then
Watch them all take flight,
bright wings
While my unburdened heart doth sing

a short poem about brainwashing
a little bit of the comedy then love
Make a face, disappointed,
Hopefully it stays that way,
One appreciates a boys wit.

What is pain but pain,
To call a spade a spade,
Our nature trail is grey.
They say save whales,
Scream of the rape of males,
even in the face of change.

Change my name,
Change my state,
Changing shapes on the screen again.

As tradgic as future sound.
Ground eventually hit tarmac,
Inverse of the ultimate,
Cut sleep, Cut meat,
Cover rent, paid in freedoms.
Beyond bent metal is bent men,
Tragically beyond them the concept.
One has freedom in their hands.

College commerce.
Forever a future doomed,
Earth despondent.
Mars despondent.
Man despondent.
Sun shining onward.

Opera
Three Wolf Moon
Love, and then opera,
Justification, self-pardon,
I understand your problems,
Respect my decision,
Artha, and Dharma.

What was the end product?
Neither husband nor father,
Can you blame the audience?
'Someone push me harder,
On the swing that I have built.'

Respect my decision,
I wished I had died a martyr,
Rather than see all of it.
I understand your problems,
Love, and then Scarborough.

Songbird, sharpened bones,
Opera, wooden home.
Love, screaming nonsense,
I understand your problems,
Respect my decision.

What is blue all the way through?
Very few things, one of them you.
Just like neighbourhood maples,
Who grew oversea, good natured,
Booked a flight, made into paper.

What's new? I changed, too...
All the way to the roots.

Well, a limb moves, the ring too,
The tip of which is turning blue,
What cures the sickness of wealth?
Very few things, among them death,
Worse is truth and active dis proof.

Spruce and denim, Jus, ad bellum,
In the end, they feel something too.

Just not what the majority do.
Red right to wage fights like war,
Just as much as the admiral's blue.

a short poem about ethical dilemmas
a little bit of the comedy then love
Of dying and fighting,
Best saved for last,
Apologizing and crying,
Inside the eyelids:
Kiss my ass, my lover lives.

Wind, harvested by mills,
Jacks, coveted by Johns,
Songs built by peoples,
Hymns for the seasons.
Rescinded politically,
Not knowing what to believe in.

Way too much cash
Just In Pain
Soon, my rooftops ventures velour,
While his felt cap.
So my life could be but parkour,
Hostile to this running man,
Denying his own strategy.
Assume my caricature ugly,
Underlying themes, nothingness,
Prion disease and brain eating.
I scream, away, shoo
Like strained water, drained,
Boon by foolish penmanship true.
Dry humor, dishes in an apartment,
States his wishes, his way were apt,
One could have but half, contrite,
In manacles, retarded and live happy.
Perhaps education provides a tragedy,
In return, for pardon of inadequacy.
So, I too tiptoe guarded garrisons,
My bliss beheld past,
Soon their life could be of boars.
Therefore course I lick,
Stamps compelled to stick,
What am I? A Saliva Lich?
On course to death? Rich.
I would embrace the quick,
Lest this lifetime of fists.

Futur V
ROTOM
Child, write.
Pages alone cannot set alight,
For words have not oxygen,
Yet provide an ignition.
Catalyzing transmissionless engines.
Breath of the new age,
Where fire is unimaginable.
Cold air his the vestibule,
Concerned with that visible, and indivisible.
The world turns to a glued page,
Lamenting a future caged, and unchanged.

after physics class
an english assignment
It was cold & the sky was too red as the sunset came too early - my brain was spinning with those letters & numbers & they were falling out of my ears. I looked at the asphalt and I saw my past and future yawning out - both in the same direction on the one-way road but my ears were too cold to listen, to learn. It was too austere in the building & too frigid outside & too glacial in the car picking its way home through the ice and old snow. It was too much too few & not enough of anything at all. & it swarmed. Threes with wings and velocities out with compound eyes buzz & sting & leave me paralyzed, there on the curb.

She writes fallacies of nobody,
Highlights for her hair color,
Callously she laughs with glee,
Ire beauty and young bravery.
Screaming in doorways sobriety,
I like to think she knows me not.
Picking flowers from her yard,
Policy alike her start, mother,
Discovering what to be, rather,
Honesty like her heart, lover,
It beats nobody clever. Until.

Forgive my desires: two stepping.
Your teacup leaking, I laugh still.
Sieve steeping, a living actress,
And to live needing? is this banter?
Definition in short order, leaving.
For give my empires to Stephen,
An idea more Corey than Cancer.
A ballet dancer, but a thick boy,
Holes among left awood with joy,
Man ideal for lawyers and cantors,
For one who teaches is forgotten,
Cotton tarnished in an oily oil.
Royalty royal and parched to often,
His voice softens, off his head,
For I too seek enjoyment, spread.

Define judgement,
Divine slum merit,
Result of poor parenting,
Hope and feeling meeting.
Peeling through the street,
Flinging concrete.
Feeling part fling,
Part credo.
Eating a hamburger,
Diamond studded from a window.

Florian mispronounced completely,
Adding elles and a monarchy,
Standard wordplay misused efficiently.
Soap of the mind, floss of the horse,
Cutting our teeth on useless fleece.
Forgetting their needs, people worsen,
Fleeing to worlds sincere yet fleeting.
Spying, leaving decrying yourself not,
Received to cheering regardless,
Archean and poor as thoughtforms are.

If the American government told you,
life over death,
Would you just believe them,
and choose to live?
If the American government told you,
We're just having fun,
drawing lines in the sky,
Would you believe them?
If your president warned you,
Of the coming apocalypse,
Would you believe the Americans?
Or choose to live?

Yin And Yang

Theres a fundamental truth
Inside each of us
A principle of life
Borne in all of us
Some may call it light
Some may call it dark
Whatever the case
Its in all of us

May come across as negative
May come across as positive
However it arrives
Its all relative
It may appear as cold
It may appear as hot
However it appears
This thing we all got

Sometimes it is active
Sometimes it is passive
When it does show up
Sometimes it is massive
It may come on cold
It may come on hot
It may come a little bit
I may come a lot

Sometimes it comes wet
Sometimes it comes dry
Dont bother to ask
No one can answer why
Some say its feminine
Some say its masculine
Some call it a fraud
Others call it genuine

Its an interaction
It has a certain balance
No matter how you juggle it
It is in our consciousness
May influence behavior
May influence our fate
Right from the very start
Right from the starting gate

These forces are in people
Theyre found in nature too
Dont be so surprised
Theyre in me and you
Their names are Yin and Yang
Theyre inside all of us
A fundamental truth
Borne in each of us

Hidden Stories
The world as I see it
Warning: this is looooooong and if you’re a sensitive individual the first parts may bother you. But hopefully the last part will inspire you. Speak your truths friends. The ones who matter will love you all the harder. #worldmentalhealthday

Hidden Stories

They smiled, jokingly told her
she looked tired,
“Must’ve partied hard last night.”
Smile quietly returned,
“just didn’t sleep too well I guess.”
She didn’t tell them how hard it was to get out of bed this morning,
How sleep never came last night,
How it felt like the darkness would just swallow her whole,
How she felt hollow and empty
and there weren’t any tears left,
just an ache deep within
that wouldn’t subside.
And maybe if she just squeezed her eyes shut and stayed in that bed
in the blacked out void,
She wouldn’t have to face another day of faked smiles and “I’m ok” lies.
“Just tired today I guess.”

“It’s warm today man!”
“What’s with the long sleeves all the time?”
“Got some crazy tattoos under there?”
He smiled, laughed along with them,
Self-consciously ran his hands
over his wrists.
Over the bandages binding his secrets.
They didn’t know how close he got last night, how he almost let go,
How so much blood, HIS blood
swirled down the drain,
mixing with his tears.
He was sure no one would miss him, but he wondered if he would miss this world,
And the good days out in the sun,
Few and far between as they were.
What would they say if he were gone tomorrow?

“You should’ve come out with us last night. You would’ve had so much fun...”
She nodded and made those
“next time” promises,
though she knew they were lies.
She’d stay home again,
Wrapped in the icy grips of loneliness,
Which felt somehow better
than her burning cheeks
when the right words just wouldn’t come, or the wrong ones spilled out,
and she felt their eyes on her,
Panic rising, thoughts frozen
Wishing she’d just stayed home,
Away from the judgement,
And all the wrong moves she always made

“Haven’t seen you around in a while! Doing ok?”
His mouth smiled, head nodded,
lips formed words he’d said so often, automatic.
Because, really, he thought,
How could I describe
that moment last night,
body curled up with forehead cold
against the kitchen floor,
Ears covered to block out the voices,
Silent screams wracking his body as the panic overwhelmed him,
No breath to speak,
And who could he call anyway,
How would he explain these moments of pure fear that slipped in unnoticed
and become everything, took everything, until he was a shivering shell of himself.
Sometimes he wondered,
if they could see through him,
would they think him weak?
Would they walk away...?

These people are all make-believe,
but the experiences are not,
taken from articles and discussions
and sometimes even revelations from
real-life friends.
These are not my stories,
but they are someone’s truths,
Not their weakness,
Not their short-lived sadness
that they can just “get over” if you try hard enough to make them happy.
(My gosh do I need to remind myself of that part sometimes...)

But that doesn’t mean you stop trying.
Love them y’all.
Love them so damn much that you’ll sometimes break through the cracks in their self-inflicted armor.
Listen to them,
Give them the chance to be
open and honest,
And if what they say makes you flinch, imagine what it must feel like for them.
Do something kind that makes them smile and get ready to do it again tomorrow.
Smile and laugh with them. Cry with them.
Be genuine with your
thoughts and feelings.
Give them space, but check on them.
Pull them out of the dark for just a moment, say,
“I’m here for you when you need me.
And I always will be.”

Mental health issues are often invisible,
but still feel debilitating to the one
inside that head.
Stay educated.
Be understanding.
Love the hell out of each other.
