Why is it, that time created distance,
And why from persistence, this time,
Came great suffering, and pestilence.

Given tongue, and often structure,
In return: local, but of foreign work,
Until laughter, then giving up.

Why is it, that you have so much?
And share little with anyone else.
Why is it, that you hate so much?
And have love for only yourself...

Given love, and given supper,
And little of anything else.
Envy itself, has deadly effect,
And little of anything else.

Grumble, mumble, crunch.
A stubborn muscle,
Says one brain,
One to the other.

In a world of abundance,
I chose cannabis subculture,
Not getting high,
Just shut the fuck up,
And go away.

Younger brother lost,
I guess in a world full of lexicon,
You never expect a clown like me
To insult and beg them on.

In a world full of choices,
I always chose but one.

I would never again lose something,
That means so much.

I love you, despite being gone.
I love you, despite weak response,
Despite my still beating heart,
Like my blood had been robbed.

In a world full of choices,
I always choose but one.
I would never lose again something,
That means so much.

Little bug:
Little pigs, Little frogs, Little slug.
Finger work beneath civil tongue:
Fish supper, friction with drums.

A little brother, too big for hugs,
A little bit of dust, bits of rough:
Personality, but's and cynical plots,
Digital work beneath a given tongue.

What would you say to me honestly?
That you wish I was crushed?
Well, I'm not.
I lived never thinking of you much.

Where is your response?
Little love for little bugs,
Simple things, inner calm, bigger cause...
More concern for grudges,
Than writing another song.

Give a little time, you give it up...
A little pain, a little age, little fun:
Singing about doors that are shut,
Invisible cuts that the makeup covers,
For a while, until the stage goes dark,
Then begins your performance,
Entertainment to little bugs.

Berries, on a plate,
Berries, stay in place,
Barrie, by the bay,
Very much the same,
Painted by numbers,
Same as yesterday.

Terry Towel upon the face,
Cucumbers, and potatoes,
Over white and yellow paste.

In the street, expensive things,
And nodding off on heroin,
Near a tesla by the beach.

Wide use of incense,
Tight, in defence,
Armside, spiderwebs,
Tight looking threads,
Bride beside herself.

In a sense, I require less,
No accidental catch,
No incidental crash,
No occidental trash,
Private gestures, wider netting,
Quiet letters for me, tellings,
Over ornamental brass setting.

Is that too much to ask?

What is blue all the way through?
Very few things, one of them you.
Just like neighbourhood maples,
Who grew oversea, good natured,
Booked a flight, made into paper.

What's new? I changed, too...
All the way to the roots.

Well, a limb moves, the ring too,
The tip of which is turning blue,
What cures the sickness of wealth?
Very few things, among them death,
Worse is truth and active dis proof.

Spruce and denim, Jus, ad bellum,
In the end, they feel something too.

Just not what the majority do.
Red right to wage fights like war,
Just as much as the admiral's blue.

Dichromatic concepts,
Gods, and Goddesses,
Blood, clotted,
The colors bother him.

Colors like blue-red, like proverbs.
Worship Brahma, trust in process,
Like an animal, acquire knowledge.

Marvel, at an impossible profit,
Money like orange, hyperbolic,
Muscle farmhands, prophet.
You are the colors you ponder,
You aren't young much longer,
You, are an actual darkness,
A lack of color.

Worship gospels, dungeon crawlers,
To you, a monster is a monster,
Nonsense you might make up,
Forget what murdered daughters,
Sons and brothers, like insects.

Those little boxes you invented,
Then force upon a general public.

Like the sun heats sand,
Marrow, lemon, butter.
Yellow begets yellow.

You can get by, off nomenclatures,
You can get off of your oral favours,
High horse and compare your god.

Yellow teeth, shallow gums, fallow claws,
Yellow is the sun that follows you home,
Yellow is Chicago, Toronto and New York.
Kill fellow flowers to see if he loves you,
A selfish color that swallows you whole.

Reach the threshold for silence, clap.
It takes not much for violence to start.
Although, you know that.

So, like the sun meets the sand,
Grassland or temperant meadow.
Yellow begets yellow,
Green, brown and red.

You can get by, off those things you said,
Oral favours or fine works of art you posess.

I see the yellow for what it is.

Yellow, and a bit of blue,
Both, I, and you. Purple,
Lilac, I just care not for it.

Just like you never cared for me,
Or any of the things that I thought.
Fetch mother, friends, for comfort.
Tell your co workers, or consort.

I, no longer for dramatic concert,
Agriculture of the hallway, march,
July, august or months of autumn,
Yellow, burst into skies of orange.
See If I toss and turn about it.

Like, he drives a porche, owns gold,
Fire and opal in his coat pockets.
Like, the eyes of horses see god,
They see not much beyond carrots,
Understand little of soap, clothes.
Like, maybe you cared for poems,
Little for poets, less even for prose.

though it has been so long, i have not forgotten you.
i have searched for you among the crowded shelves of bookshops, the cobbled displays of libraries, the take-one-leave-one boxes scattered through town.
i have dug deep in my jacket pockets for the notes and coins needed to take you home with me.
i have cradled you close to me underneath my coat while i am waiting for the 6:58 bus.
i have found you in tulip bulbs peeking above the soul for the sun, late august thunderstorms that pelted our new apartment, the january wind that brings ice and chapped hands.

you have made sure your spine stands straighter when i roam through each aisle, saturated and dewey with books.
you have pushed the dimes and nickels into my grasping fingers so that we may spend our time together that much quicker.
you have squeezed me hard as we step off the bus at 7:34.
you have flung yourself through the sky and earth to find me in the smallest of stolen moments. you kiss my hands and my head and flush them rosy with emotion.
you have not forgotten me either, it seems.

What was I to be?
A hive of bees? I see.
Time; clouds.
Sky; crowns.
Cries, foul: "I'm tied down."
She said as I vied for relief.
Time, dreams,
Lies, deceit,
"I'm drowning". Pleas,
Screams of an ice house,
Before it lies in the deep.
Now...
What am I to be?
Composer of songs,
Giver of feelings?

What is high to a beast?
Fire, disease. What is mine.
Like piles at the keep,
Rivals final meetings,
Some spend life on things.
I, much like a beast,
Divide things in half,
Decide, with a hand, rights to be.

So, What was I to be?
Probably nothing.
Feeding my cows, starving,
Alike to the sea.
Some sing in the choir,
Some sit in the seats.
Some write, despite reason,
Until, like an ice house,
They find reasons to leave.

Sitting outside the shop on a cloudy May afternoon, my hand scrawls on the back of a receipt
a list of the aspects of myself:

- the moles in morse code down the side of my face ($4.99)
- the scars on my leg in bumpy braille ($12.76)
- the skin covering my knuckles, shining where it has split so many times over ($29.97, sale price)
- the soul filled with self-loathing, boiling, bubbling over the rim ($10.19)
- my spine, doubled over and bent backward ($17.22, CLEARANCE)
- the effort I put into eject all but the smallest parts of myself
as a collection of trinkets, an amalgamation of dust bunnies ($0.99)

I must have picked these up, absentmindedly, through my time in the shop. Where can I put these back? I didn't want them. Why did I pay for them, pulling out my wallet in a daze? I never knew they existed. I must have entered a girl and left a much older woman. How long was I standing underneath the humming lights?

I crumple up the scratch paper and toss it in the bin as the sun waves from the overcast.

Birth mother,
Are you done in search of justice?
From hunger the feeling lingers on,
I want to be created equal, in three parts:
My heart, my dreams, my thoughts.
To stomach decisions these fingers long:
How much must one muster?
The war is over, the performance over,
The opponent is dead and gone.

He hears the fear in his voice,
Drinks beer, balks, talk circles,
Inside he looks awkwardly,
Leers like a child at adults.
'Blood eater, what of your cuts?
Is your search for freedom done?
What is your word for love?
Of people, of reason,
Like earth, sun,
One deserves better treatment,
But worries when wonders gone.'

Colonel, a third of your country, wrong.
Fanciful fawns, thoughts prancing,
Warnings: Songs bandied to a swan.
Wanting nothing, wanton, famished,
Like night always says to the dawn:
Our prospects have long vanished.
It's more self talk, silence in response,
Dancing alone, along to the bombs that drop.

The wind whispers to my skin,
It's like it speaks with every breath.
As if it has been calling out for my presence,
Waiting to see the face behind this mask.
So far it has shown nothing but disdain,
And I wonder if I have anything left to give.

In darkness I wander,
With nothing but my memories
Falling, falling, falling.
Where once I saw light now lies only gloom,
And I know that it has gone.
For those who wish for rest, I have none
Though I'd give up what I have, for one more.
But it's too much now, I can't move my hands,
I just want to sleep...
(My memory, it fades)
In the dark, with nothing to grasp,
The memories that I hold so dear
Fall away from me like they were never there.
And I feel as though I will fall into madness,
Like the very world is crumbling beneath my feet,
That everything is crashing down,
I fear I cannot stand the weight.
(I'm fading)
I just want to sleep...
(My memory, it fades)
***
I'm afraid I've gone and made a fool out of myself again,
I knew you wouldn't understand my reason,
And now you're not talking to me at all,
You see I didn't mean to let your memory fade,
It's like I was being pulled away by another force,
Something I didn't mean, something I can't control,
I don't even know why I'm still here...
I don't know why I'm still here.
I should leave this place, I know it's wrong,
I shouldn't be here in your mind,
I can't help the way that I am,
I don't know why I'm Super Mundane,
I can't stop feeling so low,
I'm afraid it's already too late.

I didn't mean to let you slip away,
But the thought of losing you just doesn't sit right,
To keep you awake and alive,
I need you here, I'm not alone,
Without you here with me I can't go on,
I don't know why I'm Super Mundane,
I don't know why I'm still here.
I didn't mean to let you slip away,
I just can't shake this feeling,
That something inside of me is broken,
I don't know why I'm Super Mundane,
I don't know why I'm still here.

This poem is an Articial Intelligence re-interpretation of "Super Mundane" by TheSoftSophist

It was cold & the sky was too red as the sunset came too early - my brain was spinning with those letters & numbers & they were falling out of my ears. I looked at the asphalt and I saw my past and future yawning out - both in the same direction on the one-way road but my ears were too cold to listen, to learn. It was too austere in the building & too frigid outside & too glacial in the car picking its way home through the ice and old snow. It was too much too few & not enough of anything at all. & it swarmed. Threes with wings and velocities out with compound eyes buzz & sting & leave me paralyzed, there on the curb.

“Don’t let me down”, now that’s a foolish way of thinking
Response of confirmation, actions not in agreement
Not very much Redeeming
Like Pandora’s box you’re seeming

Like bullets to the chest, I’m barely breathing
Confused and in distress, was I deceived? and
Was I deceiving?

Were you mistaken by my distance and a lack of trust was formed

Or was my token of your trust misplaced in your corrupted life form?

Are you a demon?

But you weren’t demeaning.

You boost me up,
Above the ceiling was my love

Like, not love, allow me to clarify
Was different, real connection
But anything more than that I inform you, I deny

And now I cry

Mine, your were not but all of you was with me
Or maybe me with you, that’s where I get confused
Mistaken thinking

Time, as more comes, you will fade
At least that what my research say
But I swear to god, my image of you gets imprinted on me more and more as I survive the day

Leave me alone
I don’t want you here to stay

Memories in my bone
Fractured when I lay

Fractured when I wake

Fractured me in my waist

Oh what a waste

A waste of my fight when all I care to take is flight
All I care is me and you changed that habit
Is that what lies are like?
Is the purpose damage?

If so you succeed because I’m more than done
I’ve lost my sun
Although it’s reflection on the moon is a pretty replica
You set me up
Trojan horse
You lift me up
And when things got good you sat me down
Let me frown
Although I hide, that feelings sound
That feelings loud
Those thoughts clear
These eyes hold tears
Those drops aren’t mild
Neither were my fears

So clear Ill steer for now
Others won’t be allowed
My voice won’t speak aloud
Not truth nor words of deep
Only traps for the weak, ones I couldn’t put out
They were from your slope
Your dope became my cloud
I guess it’s, both, hello and goodbye for now.

If only I knew before, how much you’d let me down.

I feel like an empty vessel cast away
The only thing that hits my hull is the slap of a choppy wave
I have no crew on board they all found the challenge to much
The cargo I have is overflowing from deep within my hull
The milk has soured & the whey of the milk is all I am able to smell
I once was loved in such a way, the strength of it filled me up
I know it is hard to see not that I am old & withered up
The way she pulled me towards her, like there was always a rope connecting us
The feeling this gave to me is far too much to describe
I know that is is hard to see now that my ropes have frayed away
The sails are saggy, no wind will fill them up
My rudder seems to be broken, around in circles is the only way it goes
I fill with dizziness, that is all too much & reminds me of the day the love went away
I know I will never dare love again, this old hull can not handle it all again
So I will keep going in circles seeing the same thing
There is no joy, no crew to fix me up.
The old milk, in the old vessel has been left on its own
The stench will never leave.
