There's no corset for age,
Inevitably, masks degrade,
What cannot be truly said,
Like what is inside of a bank?

I think:
Narrow focus, quests for fame.
Yellow, orange, redder grapes,
Yellow locusts, yellow cobras,
Despite the sweetness, slaves,
Yellow, love, and disgust of stage.

It's the red that keeps you away.
It's the red that keeps you awake,
It's red that made me ashamed,
Less sweet and prearranged.

There is no chorus of praise,
Inevitably, that's an act of faith.
Like no corset abound my waist,
Only orange, celibacy and rage.

However, It's yellow up for debate,
Yellow in me sees people change,
Yellow, to me sits out by the stage,
Yells out in unison to the play.

In Her Dreams

Everyday she grew more cynical,
Forewarned in the way he spoke.
'What makes trees grow?
Speaking indignantly?
Lazy, form english is what bees know.
Maybe there is more, maybe not.
Leaves, and lace upon her form,
Leers and mistakes on a forum,
Leaves and paces about a home.
Lady Clare, is this what you wish for?

Mais oui, upon meeting, she says,
but may we not once she sees him again.
She begs, making peace, but, maybe not.
What is under the stars, outside of the bar,
Yet above us all? In her mind, her.
But, actually, God.
And he sees her like I see her:
Alone by herself, just of her mom.

Lo, girl, grate your feet, arms to nothing,
Cognizant, you can see what's coming.
So, use a word to cut deeper, I mean,
Maybe there is more, maybe not...
Say please, and release the lions...
If a cognate speaks of alm, as always,
Bet a fool falls, autumn again, as always,
Winter follows.

Bees, on their belly, in a playful sense.
Wallows about woods and streams.
Striped appearance, demeanor, feelings,
He exits the scene with grace and dignity.
Asking the same, but bees scream, race,
As always, it's just the way things be.

Swallow a mouth full of eggs, and honey,
Forward, fundamentally things are different.
Not just you and me, for everyone that sees us.
The courts just take up space, mostly useless,
And friends never show up to court you, bee,
They treat you differently.

You are less than me, because you are less than nothing,
She says, and places her hands to the sun.
Youth burning away at her bloodied stumps,
Speaking in fear of a beast that runs, jumps,
Eating the bunnies she dreams about...

The wind whispers to my skin,
It's like it speaks with every breath.
As if it has been calling out for my presence,
Waiting to see the face behind this mask.
So far it has shown nothing but disdain,
And I wonder if I have anything left to give.

In darkness I wander,
With nothing but my memories
Falling, falling, falling.
Where once I saw light now lies only gloom,
And I know that it has gone.
For those who wish for rest, I have none
Though I'd give up what I have, for one more.
But it's too much now, I can't move my hands,
I just want to sleep...
(My memory, it fades)
In the dark, with nothing to grasp,
The memories that I hold so dear
Fall away from me like they were never there.
And I feel as though I will fall into madness,
Like the very world is crumbling beneath my feet,
That everything is crashing down,
I fear I cannot stand the weight.
(I'm fading)
I just want to sleep...
(My memory, it fades)
***
I'm afraid I've gone and made a fool out of myself again,
I knew you wouldn't understand my reason,
And now you're not talking to me at all,
You see I didn't mean to let your memory fade,
It's like I was being pulled away by another force,
Something I didn't mean, something I can't control,
I don't even know why I'm still here...
I don't know why I'm still here.
I should leave this place, I know it's wrong,
I shouldn't be here in your mind,
I can't help the way that I am,
I don't know why I'm Super Mundane,
I can't stop feeling so low,
I'm afraid it's already too late.

I didn't mean to let you slip away,
But the thought of losing you just doesn't sit right,
To keep you awake and alive,
I need you here, I'm not alone,
Without you here with me I can't go on,
I don't know why I'm Super Mundane,
I don't know why I'm still here.
I didn't mean to let you slip away,
I just can't shake this feeling,
That something inside of me is broken,
I don't know why I'm Super Mundane,
I don't know why I'm still here.

She cried too late, she surmises,
Where the water hits the sky she relates,
Relating further as the distance gains,
Relationships were never her game.

Decisions in haste are still decisions made,
Whether the bars bend makes no difference,
You still lived in a cage.

She is indivisible from a man,
She decides in a rage,
This divides her, divided in half, her life changes.
Her children are the product of mistakes.

She cried too late, she surmises.
Famine, she decides.
Pestilence, plague, flames,
Venom from the viper's fang,
Which she places upon the lambs that wail.

Take me away, she whispers to nobody there.
Take me away, she formally dresses, playing,
Addressing her former self, she was taken away,
Far from the pain that she feels everyday

I can't fly, I buy a plane, afraid,
Is it I, or the world that changed?
Doing, but why? Moon in the sky,
The music has died away:
Civilized, civil eyes describe,
My cymbals, rides and chains.
Time changes, I stay behind, afraid,
I can't fly, I can't buy a plane,
Or move to a space in my mind,
Tiny place, stimuli, to hide my pain.
Like shrines to a saint, myself,
I can overprice, play faces like chess,
Trite, then replace with tech.
In my camp by the lake,
Water arrests the trees.
Wolf, that tames itself,
Realizes little of anyone else,
Sees no bigger dreams,
Eats the best, but what for me?

ceaseless, i wait here in my hall of stone.
my continuous, meditative, monotonous vigil only broken by the sound of a camera shutter or the scratch of charcoal over rough paper.
my silence never ends, since my marble knees do not know the hour when they will straighten and carry me away, nor my spine knows when to crack and unfurl my body tall, higher than the skylight under which i am displayed, nor my dainty dress knows when to settle itself more comfortably over my shoulders.
so here i remain, forever more statue than woman.

one evening, out of the blue twilight the night guard saunters in, bold and butch and self-assured
(her footfalls give her away)
without warning, she leans in close, shining her beam in my placid face, and i cannot blink away the yellow light
(and never would, just to glimpse once more upon her lovely face)
hastily she whispers in my ear, instantly transforming my marble to rose quartz
and slowly then, she kisses me, soft and earnest and fleeting
and suddenly i am more woman than statue.

here i lie (not yet asleep)
in my childhood bedroom (my soul to keep)
under my childhood quilt (made by my grandmother)
holding my childhood cat (could there by any other?)
and listening
to the cicadas cry over (mourn)
the loss of my sister (come morn)
when she moves away (just to our college town)
into her tiny, adulthood dorm (someday to wear a cap and gown)
with her adulthood newfound friends(i thought it was just the four of us)
and her adulthood future portends (why couldn't it have always been the four of us?)
and listening
to her professors drone on (just like the cicada)
as she compiles reports, and essays, in jargon (raw data)
and-
and-
and i wonder, will she miss me too?

Inside its silent eyes lies science,
'Mine', like a child it cries, looks outside.
Giant's eyes wide, where is his gigantic pile?
His highest pride defiled by tyrants,
Find me a guy who wouldn't sigh.
Final smiles, like wind can fly by,
like time it flies by, like kites.
Like a demon the giant tries,
Though like giant piles of hay,
May blow away in the wind,
Giants below may just might,
Or unjust, but ultimately he decides.

Calamity, their hearts dictate,
Failures, insanity, Hecate.
A spell long for them:
Dreams, but at a gamblers pace,
Meaning, but then actors change,
TV panel games as passion fades,
Children, teen, then move away.
Tickets to the gamelan races,
They own the stadium.
What do they say, of man,
Their fates? They rarely change.
One could sew sequins into thy face,
Meanwhile speak of other races,
All they would see is a cage,
Call their fathers, seethe in rage.

Stallions of grazing,
High yields, truncation,
Stars in amazement,
What feels like salvation?
A path of slave labour,
Tired people, consumption,
That's how I feel.
Everyone has their favorite battlefield,
Next to their cross with their name.
The spell longest for anyone,
Man and his grave.

away from family is time with myself
away from myself is time to write
away from writing is time to work

I smear vaseline in the corners of my mouth with a cotton swab to seal the cracks that are carved there
from smiling too wide
from laughing too loud
from speaking my mind.

I smudge the nails on my hands with paint, pearlescent and pink
to keep from moving
to keep from creating
to keep from fully living.

I confine myself to an apple and egg whites each day to mold by body
into what I see in waiting room magazines
into what it was when I was a child
into something impossible.

how futile, it seems, to meter my joy, to suppress the wind.
because, when one tries to obstruct what rightfully will pass,
it gains strength, channels down one slim canyon,
and blows everyone away.

I dreamt indifferently,
Subtly smiling at each move,
Waves deferentially,
That was my heaven.

Of pictures and frames,
Eventually they go away,
Like fitness and pain,
Jazz, age, dates and faces,
Soon again, time changes.

Honey, everlasting joys.
One does destroy bees,
Sees, consumes, avoid.
Like nothing, voice fleeting,
Screaming into the void,
Lonely, an ocean destroys me.

Right person, wrong time,
Mother was right,
Life is not a slice pie,
Sweetness inside,
Yet better divided.

Imagination lame,
Deception, I change,
Mirror, terrified gaze.

Do dreams for tomorrow,
Define today?
I wish to wish my dreams away,
Live a simple teal or gray.

If one could fly away,
Where could you go,
Besides the sky to stay?

If one could bike,
Cycle into the skyline,
Left foot fine,
Right foot aligned,
Thoughts fill my mind,
The blind can read it.

When you were fine,
and I took the time,
When you were mine,
I looked life away.
When you're five,
You say goodnight,
and you hope the same,
for your final days.

When you lie awake,
Were the choices you made right:
My private plane,
My rightful place?
My silent rage.
She says you're mine,
To another guy,
Would I mind?
I mean, I made no complaint.

If I were a kite,
That could fly away,
with my only child,
Or decide otherwise,
I think I would stay.

Down the river, ebb and flow
Movement medicine, the way she goes

Directional breath, inbound out
Cease to dam, no time for drought

She is the tide, low to high
On her ship, sailing by

Wicked waters, serene seas
Sunrise, sunset, peace and ease

Floating to sea, where im meant to be
Accompanied by my higher self and me

Turbulent tides, channel open wide
Facing facts, letting go of lies

Dolphins diving, staring in my eyes
Sonic translation, opening my mind

A tug on my leg, 8 arms wrap around
Octopus arrives, leading me astound

Magical moments, divine intervention
Messages come through intuitive intention

Coast to coast, sailing away
In the depths of myself, I find the way

I feel like an empty vessel cast away
The only thing that hits my hull is the slap of a choppy wave
I have no crew on board they all found the challenge to much
The cargo I have is overflowing from deep within my hull
The milk has soured & the whey of the milk is all I am able to smell
I once was loved in such a way, the strength of it filled me up
I know it is hard to see not that I am old & withered up
The way she pulled me towards her, like there was always a rope connecting us
The feeling this gave to me is far too much to describe
I know that is is hard to see now that my ropes have frayed away
The sails are saggy, no wind will fill them up
My rudder seems to be broken, around in circles is the only way it goes
I fill with dizziness, that is all too much & reminds me of the day the love went away
I know I will never dare love again, this old hull can not handle it all again
So I will keep going in circles seeing the same thing
There is no joy, no crew to fix me up.
The old milk, in the old vessel has been left on its own
The stench will never leave.

quite literally
they cannot spill out of my mouth into the toilet bowl fast enough

green, neophyte, insensate

swirling around in the clear, shallow water, they almost look like they are swimming

ancient, ferric, turpentine

its midnight on sunday afternoon and the morning never felt so far away

verily, salt, halcyon

pulling the lever, they swirl away, the letters sloshing together into a murky soup

gestalt, vermilion, fear

they turn into equations with no solutions when i bring my hand away from my mouth, wiping

ouroboros, nineteen, baseless

i know better than to brush my teeth

golden, gale, corridor

i know better than to go back to bed right after

demilune, murmur, mirror

linoleum, throat, nightgown

listless, lucid, dreamer
